MDI Services Designed To Improve Continuum of Care Housing Coordination - The Resource Group maintains current information concerning bed availability and eligibility requirements for numerous housing sources in a centralized database. This database serves as a clearinghouse for housing referral purposes to case managers and other service providers in the Houston community. To utilize the database, case managers and other service providers can contact Patrick Martin at The Resource Group at 713-526-1016. Crisis Intervention Houston, Inc. provides after-hours referrals. Persons in need of immediate information can access the Crisis Intervention Houston Hotline 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 713-228-1505. Short-Term Crisis Housing - The University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston Recovery Campus, under the direction of physicians and psychiatrists, provides short-term housing to individuals in crisis while those individuals are becoming medically and psychologically stabilized. Many times clients can enter Houston Recovery Campus on the same day they complete an intake. To schedule an intake, call the MDI Program nurse at 713-678-2022. To expedite the admission process, a referral form may be downloaded here. Deposit Pool - The Bering Community Service Foundation administers a pool of available funds for utility/rent deposits for individuals exiting emergency/transitional housing/residential drug treatment through the agencies participating in this project. A client intake can be scheduled by contacting Dave Roberts at the Bering Community Service Foundation at 713-520-7070. |
