Our Mission
- The mission of the Houston MDI Project is to integrate housing services, medical services, case management services, and drug/alcohol treatment into the HIV continuum of care for homeless persons living in Harris County.
- Participants are identified through the outreach efforts of various agencies and programs, and include those homeless
individuals who seek services at The University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston Recovery Campus for drug/alcohol treatment or Harris County Psychiatric Center for treatment of mental illness.
- In addition to outreach, participants are also identified through the Harris County HIV Case Management System. Case managers serve as a central link for the coordination of available services and assist clients in developing a plan of action tailored to each client's specific needs.
- Our goal is to positively affect each client's overall health and well-being through participation in this project.
