The Houston Regional HIV/AIDS Resource Group, Inc.
(The Resource Group)
The Resource Group, the largest community based HIV/AIDS agency in the state of Texas, was founded as a 501(c)(3) non-profit
agency in 1993 to serve as the community based administrative agency for collaborative HIV/AIDS services funding in East and
Southeast Texas. We have grown from an initial funding of $2,500,000 to our current funding level of over $8,000,000. We currently
fund over 25 agencies in East and Southeast Texas to provide over 80 different services through 7 state and federal grants.
The Resource Group serves as the administrative agency for the
Ryan White Part B grant, the Department of State and Health Services (DSHS) State Services grant and the HOPWA grant in the 51
county region. We also administer the Ryan White Part D grants for Houston and the Ryan White Part C grant for 27 rural
counties of Southeast Texas. We facilitate three different planning bodies: The Ryan White Part C Rural Community Advisory Board, the Ryan White Part D Advisory Council, and the Positive Vibe
Youth Board. We are represented on the Ryan White Part A Planning Council and collaborate very closely with the Prevention
Community Planning Groups as well as the City of Houston HOPWA program.
The Resource Group is managed by a 12-member Board of Directors which is composed of men and women who represent a
cross-section of our community. There are currently 3 HIV+ persons on our Board of Directors. The staff of The Resource
Group is composed of 10 full-time employees. Our staff is culturally diverse with the following ethnic groups
represented: Caucasian, and African American as well as 7 females and 3 males, with 2 HIV+ persons.
